NextSet for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS · Last updated: September 29, 2026

1. In short

NextSet does not collect any personal data. The app works entirely on your devices: there is no account, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDK. Nothing you enter in the app is sent to me.

2. Controller

3. Data stored on your devices

NextSet stores your timers (durations and optional names) and your settings (for example countdown, haptics, sounds and notifications) locally in the app’s storage on your phone and your watch. This data never leaves your devices except for the sync described below, and I have no access to it. It is deleted when you delete the app.

4. Sync between phone and watch

Your timers are synchronized between your phone and your paired watch: between iPhone and Apple Watch with Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework, between an Android phone and a Wear OS watch with the Wearable Data Layer of Google Play services. The transfer is handled by Apple’s or Google’s system services between your own devices; no server operated by me is involved.

5. Notifications, Live Activities and alarms

The notification at the end of a rest, the Live Activity on the iPhone and the countdown notification on Android are created locally on your device. On Android and Wear OS, the app sets an alarm on the device for the end of a rest, and on the watch it keeps running during a rest so the vibration reaches your wrist. No push service is used. You can allow or revoke notifications at any time in the settings of your device.

6. Siri, Shortcuts and app shortcuts

If you start or end a rest with Siri, Apple processes your voice request according to Apple’s privacy policy. NextSet only receives the resulting action, for example “start a rest of 90 seconds”. The shortcuts on the app icon on Android are handled on your device only.

7. App Store, Google Play, purchase and statistics

NextSet is distributed through Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Downloads, purchases and payments are processed by Apple or Google; their privacy policies apply (apple.com/legal/privacy, policies.google.com/privacy). Apple and Google provide me with aggregated statistics, such as the number of downloads, that do not identify you. Crash reports and usage statistics are only shared with me if you have agreed to share them with app developers in your device settings; this data is also provided without identifying you.

8. This website

This website is a static site. It does not use cookies, tracking or content from third parties. When you visit it, the hosting provider automatically processes technical access data in server log files (for example IP address, date and time of access, requested page and browser type). This is necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you contact me by email, I use your message and email address only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). To exercise your rights, please contact me at the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, is one competent authority: lda.bayern.de.

10. Children

NextSet does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

11. Changes

I will update this privacy policy if the app or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
